DISC Committees

Committees play an integral part in the success of DISC. If you are interested in taking part in a committee, please find a description of the available committees below as well as a interest form. Please complete the form and a member from the DISC board who is part of the committees you are interested in will contact you with additional information.

Communications and Marketing Committee

Members of this committee will continually develop and coordinate all communication and marketing efforts for DISC including social media channels, email communications, website and membership forum resources. Members work with the DISC Board through the DISC Secretary to coordinate all DISC commu8nications with the goal of delivering timely and concise information to membership. The Communications and Marketing Committee is also challenged with investigating new and emerging communication initiatives that would benefit the DISC organization and its members.

Membership Committee

The goal of this committee is to increase membership of Dioceses across North America. This committee will organize and direct an active annual membership drive using various forms of communication including recruiting brochures, the newsletter as well as telephone conversations. They will create and execute a marketing strategy geared toward increasing awareness of DISC as well as the opportunities and discounts that DISC membership provides. The Membership Committee also is responsible for maintaining and monitoring our membership database which also supports our conference registration for both the membership and exhibitors and is the source for contact information for mass communication. They will have direct contact with the Board of Directors.

Speakers Committee

This group will identify timely topics that will compliment the theme chosen by the planning committee and match knowledgeable speakers to those topics. (Topics are also suggested by the standing Conference Planning Committee). If they so desire, members may assist in the coordination of speaker schedules, topic descriptions and biographical data. Individuals will work with the Communications Committee to actively promote upcoming speakers to the members.

Mission Grants and Board Nominations

Mission Grant: Responsible for the entire application process for the Mission Grants Program including promotion of the grant as well as collecting and summarizing grant applications for consideration by the DISC Board of Directors.

Board Nominations: Tasked with identifying potential candidates for DISC Board of Director positions. Members of this committee will discuss the responsibilities of board members, collect biographical data and facilitate voting.

Exhibitors Committee

This group will secure exhibitors / vendors for the annual conference. This group will draft the Exhibitor Prospectus, assist in designing and setting up exhibit hall space/booths; secure advertising; communicate with exhibitors; follow up on payment arrangements; etc.

Hospitality Committee

Arrange all hospitality events and requirements for the annual conference.
